Aussi Aussie Aussie, Oi Oi Oi!!

While I was travelling and studying in Australia I found the right balance in my mind, my heart and my body. I’ve been caution about each thing I’ve been putting in my mouth, without depriving myself from the food I like. I introduced one cheating day a week, I still could enjoy one or two glasses of wine a week, went on a regular basis to the restaurant and didn’t cut carbs from my diet. You’ll probably think “Yeah right, this girl was just living on salads and crackers”. Well, despite of what you might think, I wasn’t!  On the contrary I reduced my intake of salads and introduced high value carbs in my diet.  My achievement? Lost 7 kilo in approximately 7 months.

Gut problems

A lot of people don’t even know they might have a gut problem. And believe me, I didn’t either. I always had that annoying bloated feeling after my lunch or dinner, I had a lot of cramps, a lot of gas and even worse…sometimes I couldn’t go to the loo for more then three days… I was constipated! After consulting a doctor and visiting the hospital they concluded I had IBS or Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Nothing to worry about but at that time I’ve always thought I knew what I was eating and what was best for my body. Apparently, it didn’t turned out and this was a reason for me to investigate the nutritional aspect of my food intake.

My growing curiosity

To the present day, I’ve been reading and learning a lot about the connection between the food you’re eating and your body. My interest in nutrition and my curiosity does nothing else then grow. Each time I hear something I didn’t heard about, or each time I see a new product in de shelves of my supermarket I can’t restrain my curiosity and look up everything I can find about it. I am convinced that the way you feel mentally or physically has a lot to do with your food intake.For this reason, my goal is to convey my passion towards a healthy lifestyle and to help you living a healthier and happier life.
